Laura Witz started Charlotte Productions in 2009 and has been director, writer and manager of the company since. Laura writes or adapts the scripts for the company plays and has also performed in a few productions, most recently in National Loaf at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2014.
In the time that she is not making plays, making props, or performing, Laura also works as a freelance writer, editor and proofreader. Writing scripts that are so focused on a female story, Laura is of course a passionate feminist and has recently installed a short ‘feminist test’ into the application process to be involved with the company.
In her more melodramatic moments Laura has been heard to say that ‘Charlotte Productions is my life’ and whilst this is probably true we shall also credit her with having a few hobbies and pastimes that don’t involve theatre or words.
